I have some exciting news! On Tuesday I was incredibly surprised and humbled to be chosen as the Student Art Director for this trip! My professors told me they picked me since I'm one of the few who has already completed all of the Graphic Design courses at JBU and because they think that I have leadership potential. I'm not quite sure yet what this role will look like, but one of the perks of this new responsibility is that I got to go to Liverpool for the past two days to take pictures of YWAM's Last Wave ship that was in dock. The pictures will be used for promoting the ship as well as they will most likely be used in a project in Harpenden that we are currently working on. We will be re-designing the visitor information center and information on the ship will be included.
It was an unforgettable experience that included climbing the 40ft crow's nest, swinging out over the water on one of the masts, riding in the Zodiak (a small motorized boat) and collectively taking 2500 pictures (between me, my professor and another photographer from the team). We got to meet people from all over the world, and spending the night in the ship was an adventure all by itself. I've reposted a few pictures that my professor took so you can get an idea of what it was like and then I'll post more once I get the chance to go through them all :)
Getting ready to climb!
Almost to the top! I admit I did hyper-ventilate a little bit there at the top but it was totally worth it - once in a lifetime opportunity!
Taking out the Zodiak to get more pictures!
Well, that's all for now! Thanks for reading and continuing to pray!
Praises: new opportunities for growth from the added responsibility of my role as Student Art Director, With all the fun from the Liverpool trip, homesickness is mostly gone!
Prayer Requests: continue to do good work on our projects and continued health and saftey
Blessings,
Stephanie
